7 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Mess With An Empath

Empaths are the closest things to mind readers that actually exist. They excel at detecting every little movement your body makes. They can even sense the slightest change of tone in your voice. They use this data to "read" your mind, often knowing what you mean to say instead of saying what you mean, sometimes even before you do.

What makes empaths so awe-inspiring as well as a force to be reckoned with is that they are excellent lie detectors. They'll know if what you're saying is true or not, and if you ever have something to hide, it will only be a matter of time before they wring it out of you.

If that's not frightening enough, here's 7 more reasons why you should strive to make empaths your friends, not your foes:

1. They know you're lying.

When a person lies, they often have little motions in their body that gives the act away. Avoiding eye contact, rubbing your arm, or a slight vibration in your tone of voice are just a few signals of a lie-in-progress. Empaths can see these minute details no matter how unnoticeable you try to make them. If you're lying, they'll know.

2. You can't fool them, at all.
Trying to trick an empath with words is as futile as teaching a fish to climb a tree. With how they can see your intentions as if they were written on a piece of paper in front of them, any hope of convincing them otherwise would just end in vain. If you want to fool an empath, my advice is, you don't.

3. Acting won't help either.
Sometimes we like to pretend to be someone more interesting so we can impress other people. But if  you do this in front of an empath, you can best bet that they'd know the real you eventually. So throw away that mask. It won't do you good.

4. They'll know your prejudices.
Some people like to pretend that they are completely tolerant, often even praising themselves of how accepting they are of people who are different. But we all have prejudices. If you intend to sell yourself off as a pragmatic person who accepts everyone and everything, an empath will see through your act and call you out on it.

5. They'll know if you're jealous.
If you ever felt a tinge of jealousy towards someone else, you'll know that more often than not, you tend to hide it to avoid any conflict. An empath would know, no matter how much you hide it. But being people who can see emotions clearly, they also know jealousy is a normal thing, and so long as no harm can come from it, they won't put you in an uncomfortable spot or expose your jealousy.

6. They can sense insincerity from a mile away.
If you're going to try to win their favors using compliments that you don't mean, you might as well give up. They'll know whether your sincere or not, and nothing ticks off an empath more than an insincere person.

7. They'll know if they're being exploited.
It's understandable to want to take advantage of an empath's gift, but you'll never be able to fool them into using their talents for your own purposes. The moment you try to exploit an empath, they'll remove themselves from your life.
